The small village of Forsand is located at the junction between coastal Høgsfjord and the mighty Lysefjord. Its pristine nature and close proximity to the islands, islets, and coves of the North Sea make it the prefect starting point for marine-based fjord adventures.
Join our partner, Fjordexpedition, for a 4-hour kayaking adventure into the mouth of the Lysefjord and paddle along its massive granite cliffs. Learn about the area’s geology and viking history, catch glimpses of marine life, and enjoy the tranquility of the deep, blue waters. Enjoy a well-deserved lunch break on one of the fjords’ small beaches.
Upon meeting your guide at Forsand’s pier, you’ll be given a short safety briefing before setting out on the water. During the tour, you’ll paddle along the coastline and into the mouth of the Lysefjord. Along the way, the region’s sandy beaches and flat stone coastline will seem to gradually morph into massive walls of granite that tower hundreds of meters overhead. While paddling in the fjord’s crystal-clear waters, you’ll learn about the natural and cultural history of the area while enjoying sightings of its marine wildlife, including birds, sea creatures, and the occasional seal. You will then paddle to one of the Lysefjord’s small beaches for a short break, during which you’ll have time to stretch your legs and enjoy your packed lunch. After the rest, you’ll paddle back to your starting point in Forsand.
The tour ends at approximately 14:00 (2:00pm) at Forsand pier.
